B.E Architecture has designed two new town houses on Bell Street in Ripponlea. The site abuts the original historic residence to the Bell family, after which the street is named.
The new buildings have been carefully designed to integrate with the Victorian Terrace.
As in most buildings designed within a dense urban framework, there needs to be a new way of looking at how we will best take advantage of the land that is available and create dynamic quality spaces.
With the limit of land size but possibilities of going up, a three story building plan was adopted.
The view available from the higher positioning was captured for each residence by creating a rooftop terrace and a second living area. The walls of the living area were extended to create a “walled garden”.
