Point Nepean Residence – Completed

Our clients have recently moved in at the Point Nepean Residence and are enjoying the perfectly framed views over the Portsea foreshore. This house captures some of the best vistas that the area has to offer.

The building itself is made of solid rough sawn travertine blocks that were sourced from a quarry in Italy, the more textured pieces of stone were selected intentionally for this project to embrace the materials natural characteristics and irregularities of the stone.

The impressive variation and veining through the material which was laid in several different courses is paired perfectly with dark stained natural timbers at the buildings base making it touch the ground softly. The overall materiality blends softly into the costal surrounds making it seem as if the building has always been there.
