Point Nepean Residence – In Construction

Location is the focus at the Point Nepean Residence. The house is starting to take shape just adjacent to the Portsea pier with one of the most picturesque construction sites we have had the privilege to work on. While still early in the construction phase, the framed views from the upper level are an indicator of things to come. The building is orientated to the rear of the block, designed so the main living and main bedroom on the first level capture views to the Portsea Pier.

The building is to be made of solid rough sawn travertine blocks. The travertine has been sourced from a quarry in Italy where the textured pieces have been selected expressly for this project, embracing the natural characteristics and irregularities of the stone. This past week, we got the first glimpse of the stonework going up on the construction site. While the stone is not yet grouted, we are excited to see the impressive variation through the material and the stonework which is laid in several different sized courses.
